Huskies Break Phoenix Win Streak

The Phoenix had a slow start and were never able to catch up with the pace set by the Huskies. Peter Abbandonato scored twice, in the last minute of the first and second period, while Samuel Harvey made 26 saves in the game. The Huskies ended their losing streak winning 4-0 at the Sports Palace in front of the 2,627 courageous who braved the cold to support the Birds.

Back in the lineup after suffering a concussion, Evan Fitzpatrick had a good performance with 30 saves.

Zachary Lauzon scored his first of the season in second, taking advantage of a long comeback before Abbandonato did 3-0 at the end of the period. In third, Evan MacKinnon scored the last goal of the match on a perfect play. Fitzpatrick could do absolutely nothing.

The Phoenix will face the Olympiques today in Gatineau, in what will be the last game for the club before the Christmas break.

With the World Junior’s right around the corner, the next game at the Palais des Sports Léopold-Drolet will have an international flair on December 22nd. Defending gold medal champion Finland will play against Slovakia to prepare for the annual tournament. Tickets can be found for the pre-tournament game by clicking here.
