On the road: first away game of the season

The Phoenix hit the road for the first time in the regular season. Stéphane Julien’s men are heading to the Sports-Rousseau Center of Excellence to face the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada for the second time this weekend.

Last Friday, in the home opener, the Armada came away with an 8-5 victory.  The Phoenix woke-up too late in the third period in an attempt t mount a comeback, but the Blainville troops drove the point home by scoring 2 goals into an empty net late in the game. In the loss, Xavier Parent obtained 3 points – 2 goals, 1 assist. The Phoenix will look for revenge and grab a point in the standings this afternoon.

Faced with the absence of the Slovak goaltender, Samuel Hlavaj, it is Jasmin Simon who will hold the fort for the Sherbrooke squad.  Young forward, Jean-Raphaël Roy, returns to the lineup today.  He will therefore officially play his first game in the QMJHL.
